The website cscbe.com (hereinafter referred to as the “Site”), domain name: cscbe.com is owned and managed by The Centre for Social change and Behavioural economics (hereinafter referred to as the “Centre“).

This Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) of the Site applies to all information that the Centre can receive from Site users.

The Centre strives to protect the confidentiality of personal data (information or a set of information about a natural person who is identified or can be specifically identified), thereby creating and providing the most comfortable conditions for using the Site’s services for each user (hereinafter referred to as the “User”).

This Policy sets out the procedure for using your personal data by the Centre.

By agreeing to the use of cookies on your first visit to the Site, in accordance with the provisions of the Policy, you give us permission to use cookies on each of your subsequent visits. All types of data processing and analysis specified in this Policy, as well as their storage, are carried out in full compliance with the legislation of Ukraine regarding the protection of personal data.

When the User receives access to any part of the Site, it is considered that he/she agrees with the provisions of this Policy.

 

Collection, analysis and use of personal data

The term “personal data” is used in the sense given in Art. 2 of the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection”.

The Centre does not check the reliability of the information received about the User by the Google Analytics system installed on this site, and does not control the legal personality of the User.

The following types of personal data are subject to collection, storage and use:

  1. Information about the User’s computer, including IP address, geographic location, browser type and version and operating system, time and date of the User’s visit to the Site (automatic collection of technical information);
  2. Information about visits and use of this Site by the User, duration of visits, viewed pages and ways of navigating the site;
  3. Information generated when using the Site, including information about the time, frequency and conditions of its use;
  4. Cookies (with user consent).

 

The Centre collects only those personal data that are knowingly and voluntarily provided by the User as a subject of personal data for the purpose of using the services of the Site, which, in accordance with the requirements of the law, represents the consent of the subject of personal data to the processing of his/her personal data in accordance with the purpose of their processing, formulated in this Policy.

TheCentre does not collect any information for the processing of which certain requirements are established by law, in accordance with Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection”.

The Centre can use the Users personal data for the following purposes:

  1. providing statistical information about Users to third-party companies (however, these third-party companies will not be able to identify any individual user from this data);
  2. processing of requests and complaints made by the User or against him/her, and those which relate to the Site;
  3. in order to ensure the security of the Site, and prevent fraud;
  4. for the purpose of checking compliance with the Terms of Use of the Site and the Policy (including monitoring of private messages sent through the Site’s private message service); and
  5. for other purposes.

 

If the User provides personal data for publication on the Site, and if the Centre considers it appropriate, guided by its own discretion, the Centre will publish it. Otherwise, the Centre will use this information in accordance with the consent and/or permission that the User has given to the Centre.

Without the User’s express consent, the Centre will not transfer the User’s personal data to any third-party company for direct marketing use by this or any other third-party company.

In order to collect and analyze information about how the User uses the Site, the Centre uses Google Analytics software. The information obtained helps to improve the Site taking into account the needs of Users. Google Analytics does not collect and store personal data of Users, and does not use or share Centre’s analytics data.

The Centre informs the User that your rights as a subject of personal data are regulated by Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Personal Data”.

 

Dissemination and disclosure of personal data

The Centre reserves the right to disclose the User’s personal data to any of the employees, managers, policyholders, professional advisors, agents, etc. in the scope and within purposes specified in the Policy:

  1. in those cases in which the Cenre is required to do so by the legislation of Ukraine;
  2. in connection with any current or future legal proceedings;
  3. in order to establish, implement or protect the legal rights of the Centre (including providing information to other parties to prevent fraud, etc.);
  4. to any person who, in the reasonable opinion of the Centre, may submit a request to a court or other authorized body for the disclosure of this personal data and, in the reasonable opinion of the Centre, this court or authorized body will issue an order for the disclosure of this personal data.

The Centre will not disclose the User’s personal data to third parties, except for the cases specified in the Policy.

Information collected by the Centre may be stored, processed and transferred between any countries with which the Centre cooperates in order to enable the Centre to use this information in accordance with the Policy.

By agreeing to the Policy, the User gives unquestionable consent to the transfer of personal data specified above.

 

Period of personal data storage

The user’s personal data will be stored for the period necessary to achieve the above-mentioned purpose of processing such data. Personal data may be destroyed after the expiration of the storage period or in cases provided by law. 

 

Use of cookies

The Centre can collect certain information through the use of cookies.

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is downloaded and stored on the User’s computer, tablet or mobile phone when he/she visits certain websites.

There are different ways to set cookies. The User can: disable their operation and delete them at his/her own will; change his/her browser settings in order to limit the use of cookies; limit the browser’s ability to track his/her website browsing history.

Cookies do NOT pose a threat to your computer or security, and despite popular misconceptions, they have nothing to do with viruses such as Trojan horse. The Centre uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google Inc. Collected information about how and when our users visit the site can help us improve it in the future. On the Site, we use cookies to understand what content interests you and to remember you if you visit the Site again. The use of cookies is an industry standard, and it is implemented on many Internet sites.

Change of policy

Changes and additions may be made to this Policy from time to time and without prior notice to the User by the Centre, at its own discretion, including when the requirements of the law change.

In the event of changes to this Policy, the Centre will post its new version on the Site, and such Policy shall enter into force at the time of its publication/posting on the Site. If the User refuses to accept the Policy with changes, the latter shall immediately leave the Site, otherwise it is considered that the User unquestionably agrees with the relevant changes to the Policy.
